“Be the Tree”
Outtake from my session with Matt. I just got Adobe Lightroom and was messing with the different colors and couldn’t choose. I decided to take bits and pieces from the images and piece them together. The photo already had a whimsical, snapshot-in-time quality but it truly comes to life here.
Also, this was completely subconscious but I seem to have color corrected this to the style of Veronica Mars season 3 credits. V-Mars is one of my favorite shows. Well shot, well written. Such a great neo-noir. The images are so sharp and creamy, I love it. I feel this is a fun homage, as unintentional as it was.
I used Matt’s studio logo (which I designed) since it seemed to compliment the edge of this image. The font is even similar. But definitely a Lauren Winn pic!
Levitation fun with Matt.
First time I’ve ever planned a levitation photo. We had some difficulty - I had lighting issues and Matt felt super awkward trying to jump without anticipating a landing. Plus his bass is quite heavy. He ran and jumped in the same spot a good 20-25 times before we could get this one. It’s not bad for my first levitation photo, just wish I had more dynamic range.
YowaYowaCamera would be proud, yes?
Meet Matthew Booth.
Matthew from M. Booth Studios.
My friend Matt from M. Booth Studios. When Matt invited me to his studio, I didn’t know he wanted me to take photos for his website. When he mentioned it, I said, “why the hell not?” We drove to a random location and this was the result.
KODACHROME NC invited me to photograph one of their workshops a few months back. Here’s one of the workshop/instructors, Fred Mayor. His dancing style was fluid and and full of sass.
